There are some flatpicking beginner exercices for the right hand, alternating down-up motion of the pick.
The basic rule is a down-stroke on a downbeat and an up-stroke on an upbeat.>

This is a Liberty Guitars prototype that I picked up a few years ago. It's a solid brass top without a resonator. It's a pretty cool sound. I'm playing it with a capo at the 5th fret, using a flatpick.>
