| Fashionable Technology
|
A massage-based video game controller, panties with wings and an inflatable dress were just a few of the concepts exhibited recently at the NYC gallery Eyebeam to launch Sabine Seymour's new book "." In this video, we interview Sabine about the burgeoning field and her lifelong obsession with fashion. She also helps us peruse the exhibit, chatting with the designers and artists behind each piece to learn about their inspiration and process. |

| Gman Squad: Episode 2 - "Science"
|
by Xanatos.
The Gman Squad is a sketch comedy/improv machinima series that takes place in Half-Life's very own Black Mesa. In it you will find the squad's adventures at the doomed complex and also many miscellaneous segments and comedy bits. In this second episode, The Gmen find themselves in the wake of a resonance cascade, stuck right in the middle of the black mesa carnage where they left off. Now they will cross paths with Gordon Freeman and continue to wander aimlessly, eventually hoping for some sort of an escape from headcrabs, zombies, scientists, security guards, bullsquids, vortigaunts, barnacles, and that invincible guy in the blue suit adjusting his tie on that catwalk above. New segments include "Science" and "Gman Squad Trivia". |

| The Qur'an Leads The Way To Science
|
Scientific observation introduces man to the mysteries of creation, and ultimately, to God's eternal knowledge, wisdom and power. As stated by Albert Einstein, "science without religion is lame", which is to say, that science, unguided by religion, cannot proceed correctly, but rather, wastes much time in achieving results, and worse, is often inconclusive. Islam is a religion of reason that encourages science. Watch this film to see how the Qur'an leads the way to science by calling on people to reflect upon and examine the signs of creation around them. |

| SICP / What is "Computer Science" ?
|
Hal Abelson gives an introduction to the "Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs" lecture with an explanation of Declarative and Imperative programming.
Excerpted and adapted from Hal Abelson, "Introductory Undergraduate Subjects in Computer Science":-
6.001 differs from typical introductory computer science subjects in using Scheme (a block-structured dialect of Lisp) rather than Pascal as its programming vehicle. The subject's developers feel strongly that Pascal is hopelessly constraining, and that important ideas (such as functional programming and object-oriented programming) can be addressed within Pascal only awkwardly, if at all. In addition, they consider top-down hierarchical design, so often emphasized as a central theme in computer programming subjects, to be a minor and relatively simplistic strategy in the programmer's arsenal for attacking complex problems.
